Grandstand RV Park, Alabama

View of spots

Grandstand RV Park in Talladega, Alabama is a very quaint spot. Fairly easy to access, not far off the highway. There is a well maintained 1/4 mile gravel road to get to the campground. I stayed here for 3 weeks, but not during a NASCAR race. This park is literally next door to the Talladega Speedway. I'm sure it is super convenient during race week and super loud. It was pretty quiet while I stayed here during the end of March.

If you are into NASCAR car racing there is a Talladega Short Track just up the road which had races and practices on the weekends.

The other thing this area is known for is fresh water fishing. The Coosa River is just up the road with 5 lakes, which were made by a series of dams. Bass Pro and some other outlets were within 20 minutes if you need a rod.

This campground and the owners and staff were extremely nice in every interaction I had with them on the phone. I believe the office is on minimal hours during off season as I didn't see anyone there every time I went by. The whole campground seems to be on a slight down hill grade. The spot I was in was flat but not level. I ended up buying some leveling blocks while here so that I could raise the right side of my camper 2-3 inches.

This is Alabama so there is red dirt everywhere. Take your shoes off at the door.

Overall, The campground was pretty good. No amenities this time of year so I can't rate them. But for the price it was a good deal.

These are the ones I bought on Amazon and they did the trick.

Here is a video of how close you are to the race track.
